Hunting and hunter profile in Bursa

Within the scope of this study, hunting species, hunting areas and hunters' structures in Bursa province were examined. There are 14,377 people who are still subject to land hunting and have hunting certificates and 26 hunting areas in Bursa. The distribution of hunters according to the city center and districts, gender information, age groups, education levels, regions, area information, the number of hunters registered in and out of the province who prefer the hunting areas, which wild animal groups are allowed to hunt in which hunting area, which species the hunters prefer to hunt in the hunting areas, from the mammal and bird groups numerically, the current records and the survey identified by their work. In addition, the names of the hunter associations registered throughout the province are indicated in the associations information system in the 2021-2022 hunting period. In the light of the information obtained from the government units, information is given about the number of rifled and non-fluted rifles used in hunting in Bursa and the economic dimension of hunting activity. A survey was conducted with 200 hunters, covering the years 2021-2022 in this thesis. Interviews were conducted in hunter clubs, hunter training courses and field studies without looking for any criteria such as whether the people participating in the survey have a legal hunting certificate or not. Education, occupation, age, budget allocated to hunting, hunting history and preferred regions, why they hunt, hunting training, information about first aid in hunting training, duration of hunting, adequacy of game animals and hunting areas, hunter's perception during hunting. Questions were asked under the headings of hunting behavior, groups of hunting steps, how the hunting training methods should be, how to develop the hunting experience, the value of hunting to the person, inspections and controls. The age ranges of 19-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-60 and 60 and over, educational structures such as primary and secondary schools, high schools, universities, workers, tradesmen and craftsmen, civil servants, Occupational information such as farmer, self-employed, retired, unemployed were also evaluated. As a result, when the answers given by the people to the questionnaire were evaluated, it was determined that Bursa hunters formed a community structure that could carry out joint work in the direction of nature protection and sustainable hunting and that they had desires in this direction.
