Abstract (EN)
In this research, a modelling study was conducted in order to determine the contribution of anthropogenic CO and NOx emissions to the air quality and the atmospheric distribution in the organized industrial zones in Bursa province. An area of 30 km x 30 km has been selected as a pilot region which covers the organized industrial zones in which the textile industry is concentrated in Bursa. Emission calculations were made to determine CO and NOxemissions resulted from point, area and line sources in the area. Information about industrial plants were provided from emission reports, data of natural gas consumption in industrial plants and information about vehicles were provided from relevant institutions. In the view of these information, CO and NOxpollutant amounts and contribution rates generated from sources were calculated by using emission factors in the literature. Contribution rates of different types of sources to CO and NOx pollution were determined by using air pollution dispersion modelling. In this research, USEPA approved AERMOD (American Meteorological Society/Environmental Protecrion Agency) model used as air pollution dispersion model. According to modelling results, atmospheric dispersion of CO and NOxemissions resulted from point, area and line resources, its contribution rate to the air quality and its effects on the region were analyzed and distribution map of the region was created. Distribution maps show receiving points where air pollution most intense is and what affects the pollution occurring in the region. Modelling results were compared with data from air quality monitoring station. As a result of modeling of CO and NOx pollutant emissions generated by all sources, the average annual CO concentration was found as82.1 µg / m3 and the annual NOx concentration was found as 71.1 µg/ m3. It was observed that the pollutant concentrations in the region are intensified in the city center due to the meteorological conditions and the topographic structure and there is a high concentration of NOx in the region. Therefore, NOx pollution in the region should be continuously monitored and necessary precautions should be taken. Key words:Air pollution, CO and NOx emissions, AERMOD, dispersion model.
