Sufi concepts associated with Prophet Moses in Bursevî's Rûhu'l-beyân

Sufism appears as an important discipline with deep roots in man's effort to deepen his spiritual search and find spiritual wealth. For centuries, Sufis have carried out many studies based on experience to close the deep gap in the human soul. Thus, they have managed to deepen the understanding of the relationship between Allah and His servants. In this context, they were also interested in the stories of the prophets to draw attention to the importance of the divine message. Although the story of Prophet Moses, which is one of the longest stories in The Qur'an, has been studied by various viewpoints by many disciplines, the mystics have analyzed it through a different mystical lens. In the history of Sufism, one of the commentaries that deals with the story of Moses in the most comprehensive way is Rûhu'l-beyân, which is a rich ishari commentary that includes information from many different sources. This work came to the fore because it collected Sufi information that cannot be found together in many other works. Therefore, this research revolves around this work. The study primarily focuses on identifying the concepts of Sufism in this work associated with Moses and stories associated to him. Moreover, the dictionary and term meanings of the concepts identified in the study are given in comparison with those in the classics of Sufism. Thus, in addition to identifying the concepts associated with Moses, the original aspects of Bursevî's approach were determined by comparing and contrasting the terms in classical Sufi works. In the study, on the one hand, Bursevî's commentaries on Sufism concepts were identified and evaluated, on the other hand, the manner in which sufies took Prophet Moses as a role model was discussed.
