Abstract (EN)

The theory of architecture experiences the results of an epistemological change caused by Modernity. Architecture confronts the problem of establishing an autonomous architectural theory within the theoretical continuity. The paradigmatic structure of knowledge of architecture controls the parameters of that continuity. Architecture deals with the paradigms which provide it with the archetypical problems and solutions in the design process. Paradigms do not play the roles of facts surrounding the world of architecture. They are rather the sources according which the facts can be defined. Paradigmatic structure of architecture has two orientations: One of them refers to a "heteronomous" logic and the other refers to an "autonomous" logic. The first one tends to use the systematics of other disciplines, the second one tends to develop a systematics inside the field of architecture. The theory of architecture, in its development from 1920 to 1980 tends to change its way from the first to the second. The difference between these two logic lies in their approaches to the unchanging problematics of architecture and that signifies the discontinuous line in the continuos problematics of architecture.
