Abstract (EN)

Power distance and procedural justice are two topics considered to be affecting job satisfaction in our companies and that is why they deserve to be researched. In this research it was aimed to examined the role of personal characteristics and power distance orientation in the relationships between procedural justice and job satisfaction. A field survey was executed having teachers as subjects and job satisfaction, satisfaction from managers and coworkers are dependent varibles as to the research objectives. Primary data was gathered by using questionnaire with closed ended questions from the schools in survey span. The data was analyzed by using quantitative analysis techniques. Separate scales for power distance, procedural justice, satisfaction from managers, satisfaction from friends at work and job satisfaction as a whole were used. Data gathered from 440 teachers were analyzed by using structural equation modeling. Data gathered by using scales were factor analyzed first. Then, direct and mediating effects and group difference tests were implemented on the model having acceptable goodnes of fit indices by using path analysis. The dependent endogenous variables in our research model produced R-square values indicating acceptable levels of effect. R-square value was found to be 0,63 for satisfaction from manager, 0,39 for satisfaction from friends at work and 0,39 for job satisfaction as a whole. Regarding findings, trust dimension of procedural justice has positive effect on satisfaction from friends at work, satisfaction from managers and job satisfaction as a whole. Distribution and procedures dimension has positive effect on satisfaction from friends at work and job satisfaction as a whole. Power distance perception has positive effect on satisfaction from friends at work and negative effect on satisfaction from managers and job satisfaction as a whole. Power distance has positive partial mediating effect on distribution and procedures dimension's effect on satisfaction from managers. Having a master degree was observed to have positive effect on power distance perception's negative effect on satisfaction from managers and job satisfaction as a whole. Besides, there is a positive effect of having a master degree on procedural justice's positive effect on satisfaction from friends at work. It is considered that research findings served for research objectives. Especially uncovering the relationship between procedural justice and job satisfaction by mediating effect of power distance considered to contribute to the related research literature.
