Abstract (EN)

In recent years, when the technological developments have been progressing very rapidly, the materials and properties that are needed are constantly changing, new material types are produced and their usage areas are increasing. The most important of these are composite materials due to their high strength, lightness, resistance to corrosion and good formability compared to metal materials. In recent years, due to the widespread use of composite materials in aircraft, automobile industry and ships, studies on composite materials have been accelerated. In many applications, the composite material is used as a basic or auxiliary material. In this study, the behavior of the mechanical properties of composite materials under different ambient conditions were investigated. 12 layer plate samples with different compositions consisting of woven carbon fabric and woven glass fabric reinforcement phases and epoxy matrix phase were produced. Low-velocity impact tests were performed to these samples at energy levels of 20 J and 40 J. The damages that occurred in the samples as a result of the low-velocity impact tests were interpreted by examining the high-resolution camera and optical microscope images. Force-displacement curves, force-time curves were plotted and interpreted. As a result of the impact tests, it was also observed that the maximum force and the displacement increased with increasing impact energy values.
