Perception of glass ceiling effect on stress level: A research on women workers working at bank departments in TRB1 area

The aim of this study is to find out the effects of the glass ceiling perceptions of women on their stress levels. For this purpose, data was gathered from the women employees of 13 central state and private banks functioning in the TRB1 area. The results of the analysis (exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, regression analysis, independent samples T-Test, Anova). The glass ceiling perceptions of the women employees working at those banks have a positive and significant effect on their stress levels. Moreover, no difference has been found between the glass ceiling perceptions of women working at state and private banks. Yet, it is among the findings that the stress levels of the employees working at private banks are significantly higher than the ones working at state banks. The findings have been argued by comparing them with the other studies in literature. Key Words: Glass Ceiling, Stress, Woman in Working Life, Discrimination
