Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted with the purpose of determining the dispersal and population development of Oriental Fruit Moth, Cydia molesta in 2008-2009.The study was divided to 3 parts as; the determination of farmers? problems, dispersal of C. molesta in provincial limits of Çanakkale and following the population development of this pest. A survey was conducted to determine the problems of the farmers. The survey was formed with 12 questions and was conducted in all areas with peach production. To determine the dispersal of the pest in Çanakkale pheromone traps was used in selected orchards and these traps were controlled non-periodically. For determination of the pest?s population development pheromone traps were used in selected orchards in Central, Lapseki and Bayramiç districts, and these traps were controlled periodically. The results of surveys showed that the most important problems of the farmers are plant protection and marketing. The dispersal study showed that the pest can be found in areas with little or limited peach production. At the end of the population development study it is found that the pest can produce 3-4 generations in a year, as a result.
