Investigation of the open and green areas effect on urban life quality in Çankiri city center example

Quality of life is a concept that expresses the degree of satisfaction people get from their living conditions and the environment. It is a concept that expresses the objective and subjective evaluation criteria in the axis of society, economy and environment in the interaction of urban life quality and environment. In terms of urbanization, industrialization has provided technological development and new social organizations and better living conditions, but these developments have also led to the deterioration of the natural and cultural environment. These areas, as public spaces, also positively affect the social, psychological and physiological state of individuals. Within the scope of this thesis, some parameters were determined and evaluated in order to determine the quality of urban life in accordance with the physical structures of the open and green spaces in Çankırı city center. 21 streets and boulevards located in the central district of Çankırı province were examined in terms of urban environmental quality parameters, indicators and criteria, the spatial data of streets and boulevards were transferred to maps with ArcMap 10.3 software, their compliance with the parameters and criteria of urban environmental quality was evaluated and solution proposals were developed.
