Câzib?s Divan investigation text

The subject of this thesis is about Câzib, one of 19th century poets, and his divan (a book of collected poems). The basic source about Câzib, whose name is not included in the biography books, is his divan. Limited information written about him is also based on his divan.Only one issue of his divan is present today. Because of its mustensih?s (a person who wrote Câzib?s Divan by hand/not the poet) spelling errors and as some words were written too disorderly to understand, some parts of his divan haven?t been able to be read.This work is made up of three chapters. In the first chapter exist Câzib?s life, personality and his divan; in the second chapter the examining of his divan?s shape and content; and in the third chapter the text of his divan.Câzib is an ordinary poet. He hasn?t got original inventions or his own way of saying. His poems are like a repetition of ?Divan Literature? (a name for an era in Turkish Literature) poem tradition. In addition to information about his own life, information about the era in which he lived is also seen in his poems. His divan mostly consists of eulogies, lyric poems and poems on which he wrote the date.
