Abstract (EN)
Hereby, this study presents an efficient computer method for elastic-plastic steel frames based on the plastic zone analysis. The combined responses of material are evaluated by finite element method, ANSYS, under wind and dead loads. This program was used to verify the ultimate moment capacity of steel frames which have been studied previously by other researchers with four examples. First one of the examples is VM 24, education manual, for plastic analysis but not of zone analysis of ANSYS. ANSYS have a capacity of running a plastic evaluation but not sufficient. After second example and rest of others developed with parallel to the researches?, second one is one storey and single span structure, third one is four storey steel sway frame but single span and last one is both multi storey and multi span steel sway frame. The results of these examples were compared with previous researches.
