Abstract (EN)

Nowadays fashion is not the only factor that affects the expectations from clothes, besides fashion the issues such as feeling peaceful and comfortable have begun to gain importance. Good feelings during wearing are defined as feeling pleased as the result of the physiological, psychological and physical harmonies. The results of the consumer researches in the last century show that consumers meet the needs of wearing parallel to their newer, more dynamic and more comfortable life styles. Feeling "well" during wearing is a basic and a universal need. Sometimes it is more important than the appearance. Persons can feel well and act in a comfortable way by means of clothes which are fit, enables activities and suitable to work and atmospheric conditions. One of the parameters that determines the feelings of well and comforts during wearing is the moisture transfer performance. As the results of the activities especially heavy activities or depending upon the psychological states perspiration occurs when the temperature of the body increases together with the necessity of controlling the thermal balance. Body feels comfortable as the person can't feel it. If the sweat is not removed when it is in the form of water vapor in the beginning, the relative moisture around the body increases, so body feels wet and sticky. As the result of these feelings comforts disappears. This Project is planned to disappear the discomfortable issues in the scope of developing fabrics are more adsorbent and have more sweat spreading property. Thus the new fabrics will have a better moisture management property that will enable more adsorbent and have more sweat spreading fabrics than usual. These properties will be applied to cellulosic and cellulosic/synthetic yarns and the performances of the fabrics produced from these yarns will be developed. Soft and comfortable fabrics with good moisture transfer and high drying performance will be able to be developed. It is expected that the surface properties and dyeability of these fabrics leave the same as the result of improving the comfort properties. The output of the Project will be a fabric that will have advantages of both synthetic and cellulosic/synthetic fabrics with good moisture transfer and high drying performance like synthetics and with good comforts properties like cellulosic/synthetic fabrics. The products should be produced by conventional mill conditions. Various performances will be proved by objective tests.
