Environmental efficiency analysis: Kuznets curve approach

In this study the relationship between environmental conception and environmental problems, the reasons of pollution and the economics is investigated. In interperation of the relation between the environment and economics externality has an important role. Therefore in this study precautions for pollution caused by externalities, kinds and compensantations of solution leads and precautions are investigated.In demonstration section of this study, validity of the Environmental Kuznets Curve Approach related to provinces in Turkey is analyzed. The relationship between the income and air pollution is investigated by using air pollution measurements and panel data estimations in Turkish provinces. In panel data model, measurements of Sulphur dioxide and Particulate Matter in 56 provinces between 1990-2000 is utilized. Panel data analysis indicates an N-shape relationship between Sulphur dioxide and Particulate Matter emissions. The basic finding of this analysis is; this research supports Turkey in terms of air pollution in Environmental Kuznets Curve Hypothesis.
