Abstract (EN)
People need to be motivated with a target in order to conduct a job with a good performance. According to literature, this motive is identified as job motivation and satisfaction. There are numerous factors which have an impact on job motivation, including that individual perceptions, social background, social and physical environment. Those factors either can boost the motivation or reduce it. In this study, it is aimed to determine the influence of physical office environment on employee's motivation in private sector and to analyse how much influence subfactors have on it. To do so, the motivation and physical environment concepts and their theoretical framework will be investigated in the first and second chapter respectively. In the last chapter, a questionnaire which was conducted in two big scaled informatics firms in İstanbul and Kocaeli with 437 people will be analysed statistically. The reliability of the study was analysed with SPSS, and then factor analysis, T-test, correlation analysis and regression analysis has applied to this study. According to results, it is observed that there is a strong influence of physical environment on motivation, specifically adequate equipment; possession of chair and table, optimal room temperature, air quality and light positioning has a positive effect, while open office plan has a negative effect on motivation.
