Improvement with jet grouting method of Ceyhunkent public housing (Ceyhan / Adana) construction area

Soil improvement is the study for Ceyhunkent public housing constructed in Ceyhan district, Adana is the subject of this study. The soil improvement has been needed due to the improper soil properties of Ceyhan district which would have negatively affected the public housing project. Jet grouting method has been determined as the suitable method after evalvating the other improvement methods. The aim of the study is to determine the differences in the engineering parameters after the application of the selected improvement method. For this purpose, required soil mechanics experiments performed on disturbed and undisturbed samples taken both from the unimproved foundation soil and from the improved soil by the jet grouting method. Firstly, Atterberg, Limits, specific gravity and grain size analysis tests had been made for soil classification and then, the uniaxial pressure, shear box and consolidation tests were performed in order to determine the engineering parameters. Effectiveness of the improvement has been analyzed by evaluating the experimental results. Finally, strength and consolidation characteristics of both improved and unimproved foundation soils, their liquefaction and possibility at ground water effects have been determined.
