Abstract (EN)
In this study, Ç 8620 steel and a dual phase steel that was produced from this steel with different martensit volume fractions and morphologies have been investigated. In general, these steels have shown better machinability properties than the ferrite-pearlite micro structured steels. In all samples, cutting forces decreased as the cutting speed increased. Similarly, surface roughness has tended to decrease while the cutting speed was increased. Similarly, surface roughness tended to decrease while the cutting speed increased. Among dual-phase steels the ones with higher martensite particulate size showed the best machinability properties.
