Abstract (EN)

Economic Corridors, in essence, are seen as cooperation where trade-based investments are made and countries strenghten their relations with each other. In this context, ıt has beed observed that the first economic corridors created in the Greater Mekong Region in 1992 contributed the the economic development of the countries in the region in the last 20 years. Today, The Belt and Road Project, which is considered as the vision of the People's Republic of China, promises to contribute to its member countries economically with ist 6 land corridors. The People's Republic of China, which has enabled civilization to progress in the east-west direction through the historical Silk Road for centuries, and was a pioneer in the establishment of trade and the establishment of ties between countries, started to wake up from the deep sleep in which it fell under the influence of the Industrial Revolution, as a result of the reformıst and open-minded policies implemented by Deng Xiaoping in 1978. China, which was successful in the transition policies to the Neo-Liberal economy in the 1990s and became a production center in the 2000s, reached double-rigit growth figures until the 2008 crisis and thus became one of the largest economies in the world. China, which experienced fluctuations in economic growth between 2008 and 2011, revealed the Belt and Road Project. The Project brings with it a great economic potential in the world and at the same time certain threats. Countries involved in the Middle Corridor initiative announced by our country are generally possitively affected by the OBOR Project. If the Middle Corridor countries complete the necessary infrastructure investments and and the stability problem in the region can be resolved, the possitive effects of the project for the Middle Corridor countries are expected to increase. On the other hand, it is concluded that the economic dependence of the Central Asian states on the Chinese State has increased and that preventetive steps should be taken against this situation, which is known as the threat of debt diplomacy. The project is also important in terms of solving the infrastructure problems of Central Asian contries thanks to the the Belt and Road project, the project offers an important opportunity to reduce the dependence of the countries in the region on natural resource exports in trade, the countries that have strengthened their commercial ties with each other and the countries that have recently gained their independence can save from the hegemony of Russia. The South Caucasus countries, especially in terms of income they can obtain from transit and to create economic diversity in their exports, consider the project valuable, our country's potential to act as a bridge between Asia and Europe and therefore to be one of the central countries, the potential income that can be obtained from transit with the project, because of increasing foreign investment in our country with this project, the increase in our trade volume with eastern countries and the opportunity to turn the trade balance against us in our bilateral trade with the chinese state.
