Abstract (EN)
During the year-end technical stop 1 in 2012, the old R7525 PMTs which are located at i∅ = 43 in HF sub-calorimeter of the CMS – HCAL were replaced with the new R7600U-200-M4 PMTs. Collected data with old and new PMTs were analyzed using noise filters which are classified as topological and time based. This analysis was done using collision data taken at √s = 8 TeV and √s = 13 TeV. According to the results of the √s = 8 TeV collision data analysis, the performance of the new PMTs were observed to be better than of the old PMTs. During the long shutdown between 2013 and 2014 all of the old PMTs in the HF calorimeter were replaced with the new PMTs. According to the √s = 13 TeV collision data results, the time based filters were found to be problematic. This study includes analysis results of the √s = 8 TeV and √s = 13 TeV collision data for the HF PMTs and efficiency of the noise filters.
