Abstract (EN)
Introduction and Aim: In our study, 4 different polishing procedures (Sof-Lex, OptiDisc, Identoflex Composite Polisher, Super-Snap) application of 4 different restorative materials (Equia Forte, G-aenial Universal Injectable, Fill-up, Estelite Universal Flow Super Low) used in pediatric dentistry clinics as a result, it was aimed to evaluate the surface roughness and color stability properties. Materials and Methods: A total of 128 samples, 32 from each restorative material, were prepared by placing each material in 6 mm diameter, 2 mm high polyethylene molds to be polished with 4 different polishing procedures in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.( n=8) Samples after finishing and polishing processes. It was kept in distilled water at 37°C for 24 hours. Then, surface roughness and color stability measurements of the samples were made. Hysitron TI 950 TriboIndenter device in Mustafa Kemal University Technology and R&D Application and Research Center was used for surface roughness test measurements. A spectrophotometer device (VITA Easyshade® Advance 4.0 (VITA Zahnfabrik, Bad Sackingen, Germany) was used to determine the color stability. Then the samples were kept in the coke solution for 1 week and then the final color measurements were made. Color differences were recorded according to the CIEDE 2000 system. Results: The lowest surface roughness values were observed in the G-aenial material, and the highest surface roughness values were observed in the Equia material. (p<0.001) The lowest roughness values were observed with the Sof-Lex material and the highest roughness values were observed with the Identoflex material (p=0.02). ) When all materials were examined, the lowest roughness values were observed in G-aenial restorative material polished with Super-Snap material, and the highest roughness values were observed in Equia material polished with Identoflex material. The highest color stability was observed in the Fill-up material, and the lowest color stability was observed in the Estelite material. The lowest color change values were seen with Sof-Lex material and the highest color change values were seen with OptiDisc material. When all materials were examined, the lowest color change values were observed in G-aenial material polished with Super-Snap material, and the highest color change values were observed in Equia material polished with Identoflex material. It was determined that there is a statistically significant relationship between surface roughness and color change. Conclusion: In the light of this information, it was determined that the G-aenial material showed the most successful results in terms of surface roughness and the Fill-up material in terms of color stability. The lowest color change and surface roughness values are polished with Super-Snap material. It was seen in G-aenial material. It has been understood that the most appropriate polishing procedure should be selected according to the restorative material used for clinically more successful results. Key Words: Pediatric dentistry, polishing procedures, color change, surface roughness.
