Role of visual arts on treatment and determination of child neglect

The current study, ?Role of visual arts on treatment and determination of child neglect? aims to show the benefits of art education on neglected children who are traumatized, determination and treatment of the art education process.Before beginning to work, children were observed to make a trustful relationship to provide an active and volunteer participation to process.. Aims, curriculum and content determined according to observation results. Whole studies were designed by considering the childrens? developmental stages, their sensitivity and environments.There are two stages in this study. One is Scanning model and the other is experimental model. At the first step references were found and investigated, resources were presented. In the second step, applicative studies were made with children for four weeks, two hours per week, the results were evaluated with the specialists. Also observation forms were applied to children on the first and the last weeks. SPSS computer program was used to analyze the data. The data were presented by using the tables.Researh results indicated that art had an effect on the determination and treatment of neglect. It is expected that art expression might increase the developmental stages of children and decrease effects of negative experiences in their lives.Key Words: child, development, art, neglect, abuse
