This thesis does not prefer that kind of discrimination butincludes all the Coen Brothers movies which have original script.In their films, Joel Coen?s name is written as a director, Ethan Coen?s name iswritten as a producer . Considering their writing scripts together, it is possible to say CoenBrothers? cinema. In this research, Coen Brothers? cinema is anayzed and proved its ownclaim?????When Coen Brothers? movies is looked over, similarity between film noir - whichare made in 1940?s and 1950?s-and their movies seem clearly. That is why this researchbegin with definition of film noir, its dramatic features, its specific characters and explainall of these things with period of time when film noir was arised. After that this researchexplain what is similarities and differenties between film noir and Coen Brothers? films.The second concept in this research is irony. This concept occurs in all of theirmovies in different ways. After explaining what irony means and how is used in differentdisiplines, this research show consequences of irony in Coen Brothers? films. The mostimportant consequence is disappearance of hero. Hero survives for centuries in wide rangedramatic structures.
