Abstract (EN)

Logistics and transportation activities, which include a large part of service activities, have great importance in terms of competitiveness of enterprises and customer satisfaction. Time problems in distribution networks and increasing intercompany competition have made logistics systems more complex. In this complex system, it is necessary to provide specific performance criteria in order to achieve customer satisfaction and to gain a certain place in this competitive environment. In order to achieve this performance, logistics resources and time should be used in the most appropriate way. In this thesis, three different transportation network scenarios, consisting of four stages, starting with the local warehouse and ending with the demand points on the route determined for the company, were created. Road, sea and rail transport modes have been used at different stages in transportation networks. Within the scope of the study, advantages and disadvantages of transportation modes are emphasized while creating transportation networks of logistics service providers engaged in distribution activities. In the network process that starts with supply point and ends with demand point, firstly the total transportation time is tried to be minimized and the load transported at each stage between supply and demand points is optimized. The literature studies related to the multimodal transportation problem have been examined and a model has been designed and applied in a distribution firm in line with the related studies. The data obtained through three different scenarios created for the company were compared and interpreted.
