Abstract (EN)

At this research, what the effect of the cooperative learning method supported by multiple intelligence theory students achievements and the permanence at the teaching of Geometrical Shapes to the elementary school seventh grade students. To define this effect, the experimental method was applied. The model of research was pre-test and post-test with control. The experiment group was given an education that was supported by cooperative method by multiple intelligence theory. Control group was given a traditional method. This research was applied in a state school in Ürgüp, Nevşehir in the second term of 2007-2008 academic year. The participants of the study were 35 students that were divided in an experimental group and a control group.Subject achievement test that was developed by the researcher and its reliability calculated beforehand was applied to the groups as pre ?test before teaching,as post-test after teaching as permanence after one month from post-test.According to the research results; it was clear that the experiment group?s academic achievement taught by the cooperative learning method supported by multiple intelligence theory increased more than the control group?s academic achievement taught by traditional teaching method. ?İnterview Form? was used for getting opinions about the method which used on them. İnterview data show that students are active and they find Mathematics subject funny ,interesting by using the cooperative learning method supported by multiple intelligence theory.
