Abstract (EN)

In this study, biological and chemical methods for cleaning hydrogen sulfide with rotten egg odor, which is found in gas phase energy sources such as natural gas, landfill gas, biogas and which has a negative effect on both toxic and air quality, turns into sulphurous gases and emits into the atmosphere when burned, creates a corrosive effect on the surfaces it touches. The biogas cleaning level of the methods has been studied. Biological scrubber system using Thiobacillus ferrooxidans bacteria was used in the cleaning process of biogas. The bacterial solution was 10, 20 and 30 liters per hour, and the biogas passage through the system was 750,1500 and 2250 ml for 3 hours, and the maximum hydrogen sulfide removal was achieved at a flow rate of 750 ml in 30 L / h bacterial wash. Sodium hydroxide was used in chemical cleaning and components such as hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide were removed from biogas. The same reactor used in the biological cleaning system was used and the sodium hydroxide was sent to the environment by sprinkling from the top of the scrubber. In the study, 2%, 4% and 8% sodium hydroxide solution was used, the biogas was passed for 3 hours at 750, 1500 and 2250 ml and the maximum hydrogen sulfide removal was achieved at a flow rate of 750 ml in 8% sodium hydroxide washing. According to the results of the study, it can be said that biological hydrogen sulfide removal is an effective and inexpensive method. Keywods: Hydrogen Sulfide, Thiobacillus ferrooxidans, Biogas Cleaning
