Abstract (EN)
Introduction: Helicobacter pylori infection is the main cause of gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer. For the eradication of H. pylori, which causes serious mortality and morbidity with these results, the triple therapy consisting of two of the antibiotics amoxicilline, clarithromycine or metronidazole and one out of a proton pump inhibitor or bismuth citrate is still frequently used worldwide. The failure of the first line treatment is high due to the indiscriminate use of these antibiotics. Because of this, determining the antibiotic resistance is important to state the treatment protocols for H.pylori eradication.Patients and Method: Therefore, esophagogastroduodenoscopies before and after the treatment were performed and the biopsy materials were taken from corpus and antrum of the stomach for culture, molecular studies and histopathology from 59 patients who admitted to our adult gastroenterology outpatient clinic with dyspeptic symptoms and whose stool H. pylori antigens were positive. After this procedure, patients were treated with triple theraphy consisted of Lansoprazole, Results: The cultures for H. pylori were positive for 50 patients (84.7 %). The antibiotic resistances were found as 5.1 % for amoxicilline, 42.4% for clarithromycine, 15.3 % for tetracycline at the antibiotic sensitivity tests. There was no resistance for levofloxacin at all the materials in all dilutions studied (0 %). H. pylori was found eradicated at the 25 patients (67.5 %) among the 40 patients who came to their control examinations and control endoscopic biopsies were taken. There was no statistically significant relationship with age, sexuality, previous H.pylori eradication therapy, cagA gene positiveness, multipleConclusion: These antibiotic resistance rates which we found out were compatible with the rates at the other developing countries. In the light of the results of the antibiograms, whe believe that amoxicilline, levofloxacin and proton pump inhibitor combination may be used as the first line treatment for the H. pylori eradication.Key Words: Resistance, Eradication, Helicobacter Pylori, Culture, Levofloxacin
