Religious music elements in the Republic period primary school music lesson books

This research examines the level at which religious music is included in the Republican Period Primary School music textbooks and source textbooks, and indirectly in music lessons. In this context, qualitative research method was used and especially the books in Ankara National Library and Ministry of National Education Archive Library were comparatively scanned and content analysis was made. Music Course Curriculum was examined and then textbooks and books used as sources for courses were examined. At this point, with the proclamation of the republic, the books published by the state in 2020 were taken as basis. The photographs of the Religious Music elements in the books were included and the works found were revealed. Since the textbooks written by the main authors have been updated and reprinted over the years, it has been preferred to look at the first and last editions of these books instead of looking at each edition. In general, in the music textbooks taught at the primary school level over a period of about a hundred years, it has been observed that Religious Music has mostly never found a place except for small examples after 1968.
