Abstract (EN)
Celebrations are the microcosmics central parts of their belonging natures. These nucleus are determined by the cultural codes where the centers are found. We can get information about the religious system, supersititions, folk literature products, musics, dance, eating traditions, games and etc. by analysing a celebration. The differences that are seen in celebrations come from the transition period between the verbal and written culture. On the other hand, some of the celebrations are continued with partial changes, some are not organized. We migth detect this type of changes and transformations in the hidirellez celebrations. Celebrations are one of the rare values keeping together the past and future. Hıdırellez, eveluated in this thesis, shows the traditional identity of Turkish folk and it is observed as continuely changing. There had been many publications about the Hıdırellez tradition untill the decleration of Turkish republic. In this thesis the rapidly changing tradition is tried to be eveluated by using the information and reviews prepared by either professional person or non-professional persons. Verbal and visual cultural products have functional impacts to continued and to reproduce the customs. The Hıdırellez including both visual and verbal cultural products has important functions in regarding to personal and social aspects
