A profile of aydin in the countryside of the Republic: Hulusi Yetkin

Intellectuals have always played a leading role in the cultural changes, political ideologies and societal progress. From past to present they have not only been thinkers who educated the public but have also tried to find solutions to the problems of the people and the whole country itself. Before Tanzimat the Ottoman intellectuals had qualifications based on Eastern principles. While modern Ottoman intellectuals took the first stage of transformation by joining the same alteration within Westernizet Ottoman institutions with Tanzimat. Subsequently, the formation of the new Republic of Turkey took place in the 20th century. The transformation of the Ottoman intellectuals who analyzed events of the century has been completed into a modern structure. This thesis is about the life and pursiit of knowledge of Hulusi Yetkin, an intellectual of the republican province. The aim is to reveal the profile of intellectuals in the provinces by examining the Works of Hulusi Yetkin who has not been the subject of any research before. In this context i was delving deeply into Aydın's roots in Turkish socienty. The emergence and position of the intellectuals in the Ottoman Empire was examined first of all, the characteristics of the intellectuals in the Republican period were discussed then.
