Abstract (EN)

Recent studies have confirmed the curing impact of the natural honey onto affected cellular structures of hepatocytes in mice and other experimental animals caused by Doxorubicin, assessment of the liver enzymes can be carried out by measuring the amount of enzymes leaked from liver cells in laboratory. The natural honey mixed with drinking water (4mL/L) was used in drinking water and the DOX 5 mg/kg body weight mixed in normal saline was administrated subcutaneously on weekly basis once a week, for 9 weeks treatment. Blood smears stained with Leishmanie stain was carried out blindly by two individuals using compound microscope. The biochemical assessments revealed significant elevation (p≤0.05-0.01) in the amount of enzymes ALT, AST and GGT in DOX treated rats, except for ALP where the elevation was insignificant. The amounts of the above enzymes showed significant decreases in the G4 in comparison with G3. The results confirms the potency impact of the natural honey in improving the levels of the above enzymes following administration of Doxorubicin. Regular ingestion of the natural honey could provide the body a natural cure on general health.
