Classification of vocal roots in Chuvash Turkish

The Chuvash people living mainly in the Autonomous Republic of Chuvash, which is located in the middle of the Idil river, and which is seen as a branch of the Old West Turkish and a continuation of Idil Bulgarian, and today mainly in the Russian Federation are within the scope of our thesis. This scope is limited to the language spoken by Chuvash Turks. Chuvash, which has common features with Turkish dialects, Altaic and Fin-Ugric languages and whose place in Turkish dialects has been determined by long discussions, Since it is the first language to separate from the Turkish language union, it bears traces of the earliest periods, and from this aspect, Turkish dialects guide us in the solution of some questions and problems. Sound symbolism is a discipline in which a systematic relationship between sound and meaning is assumed. In our study, on the basis of sound symbolism, word roots of Chuvash Turkish starting with vocal were determined. The vocals in Chuvash Turkish have been recorded by examining the dictionaries written in their fields. In our study, words of foreign origin were tried to be removed except for the words quoted from Turkish dialects. The vocal roots in which the words we determined are located have been examined on the basis of sound symbolism and ordered according to their conceptual areas. In addition, the subject of per word v- and y- derivation seen in long vowels and the words obtained as a result of the analysis were included.
