Abstract (EN)

Avicenna is undoubtedly one of the most prominent figure who has grown in the history of Islamic thought. He studied on almost all scientific branches of his age including medicine, physics, mathematics, music and especially metaphysics and he wrote up many considerable works in these fields. One of these works is Dânişnâme-i 'alâî. Considering this work is like a summary of eş-Şifâ which is the corpus of his works, but there are also some aspects that make it unique. One of these aspects in this work, Avicenna has formed his views as a summary with his own style by staying away from any argument in the circle of Meşşâî philosophy. The other one is that, this is his first philosophical work in the nature of encyclopedia that was written in Persian Language. Dânişnâme-i 'alâî consists of four chapters which are Logic, Metaphysics, Physics and Mathematic. Doubtlessly, metaphysics is the most important within these chapters. In this work, Avicenna puts forward his pure Meşşâî metaphysics ideas different than the other equivalent works by giving the minimal place to religious issues. These handled issues are the classification of sciences, issue about metaphysics, existence, a segregation of existence as essence and attribution, basic concepts of metaphysics, personality and characteristic of compulsory existence, manifestation of asset from compulsory existence, metaphysics of skies and problem of evil. We also handled these issues in accordance with the subjects of metaphysics, principles and troubles along with the logic. On the other hand, we put forth his theory of soul and mind which he analyzed on the basis of physics but in connection with metaphysics.
