Abstract (EN)

Job satisfaction is one of the significant topics that great emphasisis given on today and is expressed as "the happiness of employees made up from their own works". Several factors which are grouped as individual and organizational factors affect job satisfaction. And, as a resultof this, employees' various features such as physical and mental health, achievement and productivity are affected. The main purpose of this research is to examine the effects of demographic characteristics on job satisfaction of secondary school teachers in Nizip district of Gaziantep province. The population of the study was a total of 462 secondary school teachers working in 20 schools in Nizip in 2015-2016 school year. As a result; participants' views on internal factors of job satisfaction scale were generally at the level of "satisfied", while opinions about the external factors and general factors in general were "I am pleased moderate" level. The effects of internal factors on job satisfaction are differentiated by graduated faculty and the living duration in Gaziantep. Effects of external factors are differentiated by gender, educational status, the number of teachers working in the school, living duration in Gaziantep, and living status together with the parents. Furthermore, the features that make difference on general factors were gender, marital status, the living condition of spouse, tenure studied in school, the number of children they have, living duration in Gaziantep and cohabitation status with parents.
