The congresses of Democrat Party in the Central Anatolia Region (1946 - 1950)

Republıc of Turkey which attempted for political life with multi-party, after short a time from establish but could not succeed. Turkey has made a stride to correspond new world order through after World War II. Firstly in 1945, National Development Party ( MKP ) was set up by Nuri Demirag. But MKP was closed because it wasn't successful on opposition. After that, very successful opposition has been Democrat Party (DP) which was set up 7 Jan. 1947 and release from itselve. Opposition which has been occured lately, took its real form with DP. The relationship of ruling-opposition was continued between 1946-1950. DP which started to work without loss of time, completed its organisation in a short time. It had a misfortune, embracing the spreading policy that no party had ever done before. After receiving support from the people, the DP criticized every activity that the government had mistaken and made pressures to change. Regularly organized congresses, the DP, dealing with all kinds of problems of the region, was aware of the fact that the government was not interested in the people and that more work had to be done in these regions. The ruling has taken more cautious steps in its implementation with the presence of the opposition, and the ruling powers that divide the country into 23 regions became knowledgeable about the region by appointing inspectors to these regions. The DP, which ruled on 14 May 1950 at the end of long work, was the first party to succeed in the country's 27-year single-party power. Having managed to hold power for ten years, DP has been working to ensure that the country has its development in every sense. The main topic of our thesis work was informed about the congresses organized by the DP in the Central Anatolia Region between 1946-1950 by utilizing the periodical national and local newspapers, archive resources and examination works. It will be declared that the Congresses are gathered for what purpose, how it has passed, working on the wishes, wishes and complaints of the people.
