Abstract (EN)

Recent research suggests that there may be a relationship between Alamandin and cardiovascular diseases. The current study aimed to determine serum and tissue Alamandin levels in rats with myocardial infarction and to investigate the role of Alamandin level as a new marker for myocardial infarction (MI). In the study, 36 12-week-old male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly selected and divided into Group 1 (Control), Group 2 (Heparin), Group 3 (Ghrelin), Group 4 (MI), Group 5 (MI+ heparin), Group 6 (MI+). Ghrelin), Group 7 (MI + heparin + Ghrelin) groups. Blood samples were taken from all groups for biochemical analysis at the first 4 hours, 12th hour, 48th hour and 72nd hour. CKMB and troponin levels were higher in rats with MI. There was a significant difference in serum Alamandin values at 12, 48 and 72 hours between the groups. A significant difference was detected between the groups in heart tissue Alamandin values in the first 4 hours and at the 72nd hour. The current study showed that serum alamandin level was lower in rats with MI. Tissue alamandin levels were found to be higher in rats with MI than in the control group in the first 4 hours, but were lower than the control group at the 72nd hour. Further studies are needed to elucidate the relationship between Alamandin and cardiovascular diseases, especially acute MI. Key words: Acute coronary syndrome, cardiovascular disease, cardiac markers, alamandine, ghrelin
