The investigation of the factors effecting the performance of the employess in maritime transportation

In today's increasingly competitive conditions, both companies and employees have to continuously improve their performance to survive. Today when the conditions of national and international competition are intensified, it is necessary to give importance to the human factor in order to be able to sustain the advantages of the companies. The effectiveness and efficiency of companies are directly related to employee performance. Motivating employees has an important role in enhancing their performance. The aim of this study is to find the factors that affect the performance of employees according to their demographic characteristics. Thesis consists of three parts. In the first part marine transportation and ports and port management, in the second part concept and definition of performance, performance evaluation and factors affecting performance and in the third part analysis and conclusion part of the survey applied to working marine transportation was explained. When the results of the research are examined; It has been seen that there is a significant relationship between age variable and physical working conditions factor and between working time variable and wage and benefits factor. It has been seen that there is a significant relationship between position variable and employee participation, social and cultural activities, organizational communication, organizational culture, participation in management and decisions, factors of physical working conditions. It has been also seen that there is a significant relationship between monthly income variable and wage and benefits, employee participation, organizational culture, participation in management and decisions, factors of physical working conditions.
