Examining the anxiety levels of amateur athletes after the earthquake (Kahramanmaraş province example)

This research was conducted to examine the anxiety levels of amateur athletes after the earthquake (Kahramanmaraş Province Example). Our study was conducted with a survey method and 153 (87.9%) men and 21 (12.1%) women residing in Kahramanmaraş province, who are amateurs in individual and team sports participated. A statistical package program was used in the analysis of our survey data. While examining the difference status of group scores of variables according to their personal information, "independent sample t test" was used in two-group comparisons of variables that provided the normal distribution assumption, and "ANOVA" was used in three or more group comparisons. Post Hoc test was performed for group differences using parametric tests and group averages were examined with the Bonferroni method, which is a parametric multiple comparison test. The determination of state anxiety and trait anxiety levels of individuals who are amateurs, especially before and during the competition after the earthquake compared to the past and the variability of these results according to age, gender, education level and the branch of sport they do was mentioned. It has been confirmed by a series of studies that anxiety affects general performance through physiological, behavioral effects and personality changes. Anxiety triggers other physiological responses as well as muscle tremors, increased heart rate, sweating and rapid breathing. As a result, such comparisons contribute significantly to developing a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the management of sport anxiety and how survey results may vary across different contexts.
