Abstract (EN)

The calculation of response spectra is important for design of earthquake resistant building. Earthquakes are sudden and accelerated movement vibration. These vibration produce inertia forces on the masses of structures as a result stresses in the structures. The stresses occure by the energy transferred to structural system have higher values than the stresses. Earthquake resistant buildings must have sufficient strength (capacity), stiffness and ductility. The purpose of earthquake resistant building design is to reinforce these features to structures. The aim of this study to obtain a response spectra of single degree of freedom system with different damping ratio and developed a computer algorithm. In this study, fort he calculation of response spectra, the motion equation of a single degree of freedom system, the solution methods of this equation , the analytical methods based on the linear variation in acceleration assumption are reviewed and differences between these methods are discussed.
