Abstract (EN)

Over the past fifty years, "the communication method" has been worked on and the methods have been developed in this context. This approach has been used by language teachers since 1950 and has delivered positive results. Because it turned out that the teaching methods used in the past were a grammatical and teacher-centered method, which was not sufficient to learn and apply the language holistically. According to educators, students can not apply what they have learned in foreign language teaching in real life. There are many reasons for that. These are: 1. Worrying about not being able to speak and shyness 2. Fear of not mispronounciation 3. The difference of the sentence structure between the native language and the foreign language 4. Negative view of different cultures. Only knowin the language which has been learned doesnt mean having completely command of this language. " A group of educators also found that learning language structures alone to communicate in a foreign language is not enough." (Freeman, 2006) In addition to the teaching method in foreign language teaching, additional materials and language textbooks are also important. Textbooks are the main assistant of the teacher in the classroom: It also helps teachers to refresh their memory, be better prepared for class, easily prepare their program and trust each other. Textbooks remove learning from boredom and ensure continuity of interest. Of course, the content of the textbook and its content creation is also important. As the teaching methods change, it is also changes in the context of textbooks. For example, books are more colorful, simpler and less complicated, and include some learning tips and student-oriented exercises. It also includes examples of related teacher activities. These are possible to see in many foreign-language books. Examples are the textbooks; Netzwerk, Genial Klick and Logisch by Klett Verlag. In this study, the role of communication games in foreign language books is taken. As a material, the exercises in the German textbooks of Netzwerk, Genial Klick and Logisch A1 of the Klett publications are worked through and want to emphasize which language skills improve these games and activities. Keywords: Active participation in the classroom, expressing onesel, foreign language teaching through games, motivation, , teacher-centered education.
