Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, three different colors fancy yarn production method with a narrow circular knitting machine was studied, which is completely new technique in the world. A narrow circular knitting machine was used for producing three different colors fancy yarn. Adding the third colors onto the two colors circular knitting fancy yarn machine caused to decrease production speed of the machine from 4 m/min to 3 m/min. Motion of the rotating part was inverted to avoid this problem and decrease the inertia of the rotating parts. Inverting motion of the rotating parts allowed the system to produce fancy yarn at higher speeds than that of the existing machine. This method enabled to machine to be operated at high production speeds of up to 20 m/min. The inverting of the motion also reduced the magnitude of any unbalanced forces, which in turn allows vibration free, and silent operation of the system. Design and manufacturing methods of the new type of machine were described in the thesis. Also, dimensions of the all the machine parts are shown in the thesis. These dimensions were used to manufacture a new type of machine at Jakarsan Ltd. Şti. As a result, production speed of the machine was increased at about 2.5 times when comparing old type of machine by inverting motion of the rotating components.Key Words: Narrow circular knitting machine, Fancy yarn, Performance assessment, Production method of fancy yarn
