Abstract (EN)

One of the characteristics of cancerous cells is modified metabolism. The pentose phosphate pathway PPP is an important part of cellular metabolism. The rate-limiting enzyme of the PPP, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase G6PD, is raised in several types of cancer and relates to tumor growth by generating ribose-5-phosphate and NADPH via PPP. The aim of the thesis is to confirm that high level of Glucose 6 Phosphate Dehydrogenase G6PD enzyme and lipid profile in breast cancer patients and how to inhibit the activity of this enzyme as a therapeutic target for cancer. A study involved 45 patients and 45 controls (female). Their ages ranged between 29-57 years old. These patients were registered they have breast cancer at Iraq, AL-Qadisiyah city. G6PD enzyme levels were measured by ELISA when the first and second groups are compared, the differences between the two groups are statistically significant. On the basis of all results, it was concluded that breast cancer patients group have a higher level of G6PD enzyme and higher level of lipid profile in state of healthy group, based on the above results we used some compound to inhibit the activity of G6PD enzyme. This chemical compounds are successed to inhibit the G6PD enzyme activity.
