Abstract (EN)
This thesis discusses the design and simulation of a photovoltaic system that use an MPPT charge controller to extract the maximum power from solar panels. Three different algorithms have been developed to be implemented in MPPT, namely, the Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm, the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) algorithm, and the particle swarming optimization (PSO) algorithm. The system was simulated using MATLAB/Simulink and simulation results have been compared to determine the best maximum power point tracking algorithm. The simulation results have shown the superiority of the developed (PSO) algorithm in increasing the system efficiency by extracting the maximum power from the solar panels and controlling the duty cycle of the converter to generate a constant voltage compared to the two algorithms (P&O, FLC). The (PSO) algorithm has achieved the highest efficiency under (STC) and changing conditions, so PSO is the best and most effective choice to increase the efficiency of the PV system. 2022, 129 pages Keywords: Maximum power point tracking (MPPT), DC-DC boost converter, photovoltaic (PV) system, Perturb and Observe controller (P&O), fuzzy logic controller (FLC), Particle swarm optimization (PSO)
