Abstract (EN)

Technology today plays a crucial role in project management within the construction industry, enabling improvements and simplifications, especially in managing complex projects that require careful planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and stay within budget. This thesis aims to examine the role of the Critical Path Method (CPM) in enhancing construction project schedules. The case study involves a water network project in Duhok City. Additionally, the study seeks to understand how network planning can boost time efficiency to achieve the shortest possible project duration. CPM is a scheduling technique used to identify the critical path, describe relationships between activities, and determine the minimum time needed to complete the project. The research results indicate that using CPM significantly reduces project completion time. Zone (B) in the project can be finished in 41 days, and the entire project can be completed in 187 days, or six months, whereas the expected duration is (7-8) months. This difference helps ensure the project is completed on time and within the allocated budget.
