The effect of digital technologies on body, space and interaction concepts

With technological advances and digitalization in the field of architecture, the concept of space and the experiences taking place in space took on different dimensions. The interaction between body and space becomes more possible with the development of digital technologies. By Using digital technologies, physical data is defined and controlled. This new situation leads to the emergence of different space experiences by increasing the potential of mutual interaction between space and body. In this context, the thesis develops on the idea of the emergence of virtual and hybrid experience spaces as a result of the use of digital technologies in body-space interaction. In interactive digital spaces, data taken from the body is processed with interfaces used in space, causing changes and transformations in space. The changes that take place in space are perceived by the body and go through a mental process, leading to different spatial experiences. The main argument of the thesis is opened to discussion by examining the interactive spaces produced through interfaces used in spaces as digital technologies, spaces produced with wearable technologies and wearable spaces through the body-space interaction process. In the following, with the help of the mentioned examples, the effects of digital technologies on the concepts of body, space and interaction in these spaces will be examined and different spaces of experience will be evaluated. In the examples examined within the scope of the subject, the transformation, interaction and new experiences of the body in the context of space through digital technology were examined. It has been revealed that these interactive digital spaces, unlike daily life actions and experiences, become a communication environment and lead to brand new experiences.
