Abstract (EN)

Personal dose determination can be best made by using probes that are part of the exposed individual. Therefore human calcified tissues as bones and teeth are of special interest to retrospective dosimeter. They can provide very useful information on exposure to ionizing radiation many years after the event. In this study, the thermoluminescence (TL) properties of tooth enamel collected from people were investigated. The tooth enamel was exposed to X-ray and taken thermoluminescence spectra with different heating rates. It was observed a broad TL peak approximately at 140 oC for tooth enamel for 2 °C/s with a heating rate in the range of 50-400 °C. The samples were exposed to X-ray for different times to determine the response of the X-ray dose of the tooth enamel. The kinetic parameters were calculated by using two different methods (peak shape and different heating rates) for the 140 °C TL peak of tooth enamel.
