Investigation of Diyarbakir regional hospitals for occupational safety and health care

The concept of occupational health is emerging as an important concept that the business world emphasizes. The purpose of occupational health; to create the minimum working environment necessary to protect against all kinds of diseases and risks that may arise due to the work done and to make adequate arrangements in the working conditions. The purpose of OHS is to protect the business, especially the employees, and the people around. The priority of human life ensures that healthy generations are raised. The concept of occupational health and safety is a concept that concerns the employer, production, efficiency, working environment, in short, the entire organization. All efforts are made to ensure that all employees are in good physical, mental and social condition, to protect employees from the risks that may arise from current working conditions, and to employ employees without any discrimination. In our study, it was made as a material in Diyarbakır Selahattin Eyyübi State Hospital in order to reveal the status of both the business environment and the hospital employees in terms of occupational health and safety and to measure the knowledge level of the employees in this field of occupational health and safety. After the data collection phase, percentage frequency table analysis was applied to evaluate the survey questions according to the answers and to evaluate the targeted rate statistically. Statistical analyzes were made in SPSS package program. The aim of the study; it is aimed to determine the information attitudes and behaviors of the personnel working in the hospital about occupational health and safety. The research has been designed and implemented in a descriptive type. The research was applied to individuals working in Diyarbakır Selahaddin Eyyubi State Hospital in 2019. Data were collected from 166 individuals who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study. The data obtained were transferred to the computer environment and analyzed in IBM SPSS Statistics 21 package program. Normality analysis of the data was done by Kalmagorov-Smirnov test and it was observed that the dimensions were nonparametric. It was used with the non-parametric tests mann-Whitney U (MWU) and Kruskal-Wallis test to compare the mean scores of the participants according to their socio-demographic characteristics. The significance level at 95% confidence level was accepted as p <0.05 for the analyzes. It was observed that Diyarbakır Selahattin Eyyübi State Hospital was quite sufficient in the field of occupational health and safety. However, it is recommended to provide training, seminars and practical training in the field of occupational health and safety, especially for those who are new to work, who have primary and secondary education, and those who work with radiology and laboratories, where employees do not have a preventive vaccination during and after work.
