Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in Erimli village of Sur district of Diyarbakır province in 2012. In this study, the effect of different natural fertilizer types on yield and quality characteristics of Diyarbakır sowing watermelon genotype was investigated. Study; fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit index, shell thickness, fruit stalk length, TSS, pH and yield measurements and observations were taken. Six different natural fertilizers were applied together with the control group. Fertilizers used; pigeon, sheep-goat, chicken, horse-donkey and consists of large head fertilizer. 5.25 kg per plant without applying any chemical fertilizer. horse-donkey manure applied to the parcel of fruits average 15.42 kg. average yield with the best results. The highest soluble matter content in fruit juice (7.88%) was obtained from sheep-goat fertilizer application. In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of different natural fertilizers on the yield and quality of the cultivation of Diyarbakır cultivation genotype, which has become a symbol of the province and has received geographical registration certificate in order to improve the yield and quality of watermelon with a wide cultivation area in Diyarbakır. Despite the application of only chemical fertilization, it is seen that different natural fertilizers improve the soil and hence increase the yield and quality. The evaluation of the natural fertilizers in the region in watermelon cultivation is thought to increase watermelon production and decrease the chemical fertilizer application.
