Abstract (EN)

Total drinking water need; domestic water demand, trade, industry, service sector, tourism, animal water needs, special needs and water losses. It is a fact that there are many parameters affecting the consumption of drinking water in the present day, even though the estimation methods used in determining the need for drinking water that settlements use or will use in the future will be based on the population amount. Drinking demand and forecasts vary according to the settlement climate, population density, social and economic situation, water use curves, water losses and environmental factors. In this study, the parameters that could influence the use of drinking water were examined using Gene Expression Programming, an Artifical Intelligence Technique. In the creation of the models, the data of the parameters affecting the drinking water consumption of Diyarbakır City were used between 2005 and 2004. This is; water supply losses to the network, water losses in the network, accrual, temperature, humidity, population, precipitation, development showing the development status of the city of Diyarbakır and the number of water subscriptions. In this way, different models are developed by using Gene Expression Programming in the demand and forecast of drinking water, and the effects of consumption affecting parameters are examined. In addition, by looking at the Determination Coefficient (R2) and the Mean Squared Error (RMSE), the predicted values obtained from the different models were compared with the measured values and very good results were obtained.
