Abstract (EN)

Diyarbakır is the oldest settlement in Anatolia, where many civilizations and cultures coexist. The city was named after the Diyarbakır city walls, surrounded by the city center. The Turks created the traditional Turkish house according to the climate and geographical location of the region, the material, social life traditions and economic conditions in the region. The plan types of traditional houses in the Diyarbakır Suriçi city area were formed by placing the rooms around the courtyard, which is the center of the house. In the traditional houses with a sense of Privacy, the street fronts are high-walled and unflattering, while the courtyard fronts are quite ostentatious. Traditional houses in the Diyarbakır Suriçi City area are open-space courtyards and dams, semi-open spaces, eyvans, balconies and roaming, summer, winter and spring rooms and serdap rooms, wet volumes and service areas as Kitchen, Bath, cellar and barn are planned. Depending on the changing daily life conditions in the world, social, cultural, economic and technological changes have occurred. Traditional houses and street textures have started to lose their original form due to intensive population growth and unconscious user intervention in the Diyarbakır Suriçi. Urban transformation movement has been initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanism, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and Suriçi municipality with the new Nazim zoning Plan which was launched in 2004 and completed in 2006.As a result of the terror attack in the Diyarbakır Suriçi area in 2016, traditional houses and historical texture were damaged in the region. Within the scope of this study, a proposal was made for the transfer of traditional houses damaged in Turkey and in the world of urban transformation projects from articles, books, theses, researches and University libraries to the preservation of cultural and historical textures.
