Abstract (EN)

Sound wave velocity techniques are generally used, both in the field and in the laboratory, to characterize and determine the physicomechanical properties of natural stones. Since these techniques are non-destructive and relatively easy to apply, they are increasingly being preferred in engineering applications. In this study; the relationship between P (Vp) and S (Vs) wave velocity and physico-mechanical properties of natural stones at dry and saturated condition were investigated. In this context, chemical, petrographic and physco-mechanic analyzes were carried out on 10 different marble samples and statistical analyzes were made with the SPSS program. As a result of simple and multiple regression analysis it was found that there are strong relationships between Vp-Vs and physico-mechanical properties at dry and saturated conditions. Keywords: P wave velocity, S wave velocity, physico-mechanical properties, regression analysis, natural stones
