Abstract (EN)

The continuous evolution of nature and its adaptation to all conditions has revealed the idea that nature can be a guide within the scope of sustainability. Since the existence of the universe, nature, which has guided people about their lifestyles, living space design and everything they consume, can offer effective solutions to many environmental problems we face today, as it has a good recycling mechanism. In the 21st century architecture, the concept of sustainability has come to the fore with energy efficient designs and architectural solutions in harmony with nature. In this context, "design approaches taken as reference from nature" is seen as one of the important sustainable architectural approaches of this century. When examining the consequences of uncontrolled urban growth and climate change, it is important to establish a sustainable relationship between architecture and the environment. Today, buildings that do not take reference from nature cause significant environmental problems on a global and local scale due to intense resource use and excessive energy consumption. In this context, ensuring sustainability by producing structures with environmentally friendly sustainable approaches in the discipline of architecture takes its place in the solution of basic problems. Architects, who have the power to play the most effective role in preserving the ecological balance, should be pioneers in making plans for creating livable environments with new ideas, creative designs and sustainable strategies in order to reduce the harmful effects of the built environment. With the acceleration of the studies on sustainable building construction recently, possible environmental effects that will occur in the construction processes of the buildings can be determined in advance and these effects can be reduced with the right decisions to be taken in the process. the design phase of the project. In line with the thesis research; "Can nature guide the architect in the context of the integration of sustainability into life?" comprehensive literature review. Answered with findings and supported with examples. The thesis presents a proposal for sustainable designs for the future.
